marelize.music
A violinist based in Hampshire, I perform at weddings, corporate events, concerts, and creative collaborations — both as a soloist and alongside other musicians.
music that connects
For me, music is about creating atmosphere — whether that’s a quiet, heartfelt moment during a wedding ceremony or a vibrant electric set that lifts the energy of a celebration.

a versatile sound
I play both acoustic and electric violin, bringing a blend of classical training and expressive performance to each setting — from formal venues to garden marquees to festival stages.

performing with purpose
Wherever I’m playing, my focus is the same: to bring music that feels alive, thoughtful, and beautifully suited to the occasion.

career highlights & collaborations
Before I moved to the UK I lived in South Africa where I was a full-time member of the Durban Philharmonic Orchestra (KZNPO) and also played with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Johannesburg Music Initiative. These days I regularly perform with The Bossard Quartet and Winchester Symphony Orchestra, and recently had the pleasure of performing with notable groups like Cord Electra, The International Film Orchestra, and Fulltone Orchestra.Past performance highlights include:
• Playing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Westlife’s final ITV performance
• Performing at the launch of One New Change in London with High on Heels
• Touring with Sterling EQ and CODA in South Africa, including a performance at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Dinner in Cape Town
• Playing for Nelson Mandela on his 90th birthday at his private residence in Umtata
• Performing as electric quartet with the KZNPO for a crowd of 5,000 at a music festival

what to expect
I’m fully self-contained and perform wirelessly using a high-quality amp, perfectly suited for events of up to 200 guests — no additional sound equipment needed. I typically perform in 45-minute sets with 10–15 minute breaks in between.
Rates for solo performances are £150 for the first hour, £270 for two hours, or £400 for three, with travel included for venues within an hour’s drive of Winchester. I’m happy to perform indoors or outside; I just need some cover from sun or rain to protect the instruments and equipment, and help everything run smoothly.
